The reason for MGS4 trophy patch’s late implementation.
Do you want to know why Metal Gear Solid 4 didn’t get a trophy patch so fast? It’s because Kojima Productions simply didn’t have the time as they were working on various other projects out there.
Producer Yuji Korekado told Gamespot that: “Well first off, my information might not be as accurate, as that is a project that I wasn’t in charge of. Kojima Productions, as a studio, we are focused on developing games, but we have only so many resources.”
“So far. We had been working on Peace Walker, Fox Engine, which is the base for the next, um, for other games. We had been working on Rising internally for a long time, so we were aware that users wanted trophy support, but unfortunately, we didn’t have the resources to make that happen. Using the excuse of the 25th anniversary, we decided to finally incorporate trophy support.”
It’s weird that this turned out to be such an expensive project that Kojima Productions were stalling for so many years. I believe Korekado but something tells me removal of MGO played a role in freeing system resources for the trophy patch. Kind of like Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition.
