Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Watch Is Expensive And Pretty

It's not too impressive in features but it's rather pretty.

As many gamers, attendees of gaming related social and industry events are aware, the big hitters are nearly always trying to bag you down with gaming loot and swag, more often than not hoping that this will make their event stand out as being better than others. Most of the time its a shirt with a great big company logo or emblem splashed across the chest alongside download codes etc. Konami however seem to have a bit more class when it comes to handling their IP.

At the Baselworld 2015 Show, the very same show that Linde Werdelin revealed their new SpidoLite Titanium watch (which is a thing of beauty), Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was in attendance. The Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Wired X watch was shown in a never before seen cutscene that shows Snake wearing the watch on his bionic arm, seemingly admiring it. The watch, which is a bit to sharp edged for my tastes, is undeniably quite nice and will come in at around £250 or $360 and comes packaged in a collectors box.

The casing is only Stainless Steel, but the watch is limited to 2500 production copies. Once they’re gone, there’s no more coming. The watch includes a stopwatch function that will go up to 9 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds with 1/100 measurement accuracy, Timer functions, Alarm functions, dual time functions and a dying battery notification. The same features can be found in an $20 watch, so you’re really only paying for the collectors value.
