Konami surprised us all with a brand new co-op game set in the Metal Gear universe, titled Metal Gear Survive. In a recent interview with VG24/7, Konami’s brand manager, Richard Jones, compared the new title’s gameplay to the latest release in the franchise, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, revealing that it will feature a lot of the same aspects.
“The gameplay is very similar to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and will have a lot of those aspects for sure, and we’re going to add on that co-op gameplay in-tune with that.”
“Most of the gameplay will be focused on co-op play. So trying out missions with different styles, working with each other to experiment with tactics, that kind of thing. In general there is a lot of replayablility around trying different missions from a progression standpoint, from a tactical standpoint with three other friends.”
Metal Gear Survive is planned to release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC later in 2017.
