Following up on the debut of Metal Gear Survive in the UK, Gfk Chart-Track and Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad provided more information just how poorly it performed.
Metal Gear Survive managed to sell 85 percent less copies than Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance did in its launch week. Compared to Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, the survival title barely managed to sell 5 percent of that game’s amount. In terms of concurrent players on Steam, it hit an all-time peak of 7,871 players. Its recent concurrent player peak over 24 hours was a dismal 20 players.
Though it still fared better than titles like Shadow of the Colossus, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, this is only for its launch week in the UK. Long-term, it’s unlikely (read: near impossible) to have the same kind of viability. You can check out our official review here to learn more about the game and why it’s so flawed.
