Metro: Exodus Goes Gold, Release Moved Up To February 15

Plus, we get our first look at the game’s title sequence.

Metro: Exodus, the eagerly awaited third entry in the Metro series, has now gone gold, meaning development on it has completed, and code is being sent out to be pressed to discs. It also means that beyond this point, delays are unlikely.

In fact, in this case, the opposite has happened, and 4A Games have announced that they will be moving the release of the game up. Instead of launching on February 22, 2019, which is when half of next year’s games seem to be launching, it will be launching on February 15, 2019. Now it and Crackdown 3 can duke it out instead.

The tweet by 4A Games announcing the game going gold and its new release date also has our first look at the game’s title sequence, which I feel does a fantastic job at setting the mood for the game’s grim post apocalyptic world. You can check it out for yourself below. Metro: Exodus will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you are interested in the game’s tech, make sure to check out the video showcasing ray-tracing in it in all of its glory.
