Metroid Dread Demo is Now Available

The demo is live on the Nintendo eShop, allowing all Switch players to try out MercurySteam's critically acclaimed action platformer.

Heard of all the critical acclaim that Metroid Dread has been receiving (even if MercurySteam left out several developers from its credits)? Don’t want to drop $60 without trying it first? Well, good news – a free demo has gone live on the Nintendo eShop.

While the length of the demo isn’t known, it should offer a solid enough feel for the gameplay. Released earlier this month for the Nintendo Switch, Metroid Dread is a sequel to Metroid Fusion on the Game Boy Advance. It sees Samus Aran traveling to the Planet ZDR to investigate a mysterious signal and coming across mysterious foes, including hostile E.M.M.I. robots.

On top of being the fastest selling Metroid title in the UK till date, Metroid Dread has also seen strong launch sales in Japan. You can read more about it in our official review. An update also went live last week that fixed major progress blocker – read more about that here.
