Microsoft Announces Xbox One Keyboard Support at Build 2017

Mouse support though? Ehh...

The Xbox One will have full support for keyboards in the coming days thanks to the Xbox Live Creators Program. Announced by Microsoft’s Andrew Parsons at Build 2017, where the company’s new Fluent design system was also unveiled, it was a feature that most developers were curious about.

Interestingly enough, mouse support is still up int eh air. Microsoft engineer James Yarrow noted that mouse support “probably won’t work” with Parsons noting that most models wouldn’t compatible from the start. Look for this list to be expanded in the future though.

In the meantime, if you want to stomp on the newbs in Overwatch or Titanfall 2, you’re going to need a device that enables keyboard/mouse support on the console.

What are your thoughts on keyboard support though? How will it impact the system as a whole? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information in the near future.
