Microsoft has been touting its cloud services for a little while now. The company once again talked about all the benefits of using the technology when it comes to gaming at the recent Build developer conference in San Francisco. In order to show just how this tech works, the company showed off a new browser-based game called Age of Ascent. The game is currently in public Alpha and relies heavily on the Azure Cloud in order to facilitate the large number of players already trying the title out.
Age of Ascent developer Illyriad Games CEO James Niesewand appeared at the conference to talk about the kind of load tests the company has put its game through already. The exec says they’ve already had more than 50,000 concurrent players trying out the title and generating 267 million application messages a second according to Dual Shockers.
