Albert Penello, the head of marketing over at Microsoft’s Xbox division, has recently been quite active on Twitter, talking about the upcoming Xbox Scorpio. He has given out plenty of information on the system’s specifications and features.
Interestingly, he made a comment about how the Scorpio won’t need “boost mode”, and that the entire system is the equal of a boost mode. When people took this to mean that he was taking shots at the PS4 Pro, he denied it, saying, “I wish people didn’t take it that way. I was asked a question and tried to explain in a simple way.”
In another tweet, he listed a number of features, before stating that Xbox One is “more than just specs”, probably suggesting that the system is not impressive because of its specifications, but as a whole. “Supersampling, faster load times, 4K GameDVR, Improves existing Xbox One and 360 BC games,” he said. “New HW innovations. More than just the specs.”
He also mentioned that all the stuff you already have on your Xbox One HDD can plug right into Scorpio without a long and tiresome transfer process, and that developers will have the ability to dynamically scale their games for the system.
When asked on NeoGAF whether the Xbox One Scorpio will have a second HDMI out for audio, he said that it wouldn’t, confirming that it would have the same port layout as Xbox One S.
