Microsoft hires designer who unofficially rebranded Microsoft

Andrew Yim is a talented guy and chances are people who are talent tend to stand out from the rest, in most cases of course. Yim chose Microsoft as his target for a rebranded campaign titled “Minimally minimal”, which is something that looks very simple but also classy.

He had featured his entire work on his blog here and it really is good but I feel it is a bit inspired by Apple. The guy has been hired by Microsoft to work with the Xbox brand and here’s what he had to say:

“It’s true. I’m going to go work for Microsoft. When my Microsoft rebranding project went viral, I frequently got asked if I was approached by them. “Yes” is the short answer but this relationship has actually been going on for nearly 6 months,” he said.

“I can’t talk about the details of how things fell into place but the choice became obvious. I’ll be designing for Microsoft as of summer. I promise that I’ll make the my greatest work ever while I’m there.”

Great for him, and we can’t wait to see what he does with the Xbox brand. Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
