Microsoft Removes Job Listing For Next Generation Hardware Engineer

Good catch, Microsoft.

Remember the job listing on Microsoft’s website that we reported on last week, that was calling for a ‘super creator’ to help Microsoft create the next generation Xbox platform? Well, it’s gone from the website now. As in, the job listing still exists, but the wording is edited out.

The original wording used to read: “The Xbox Industrial Design studio is building a world class in house team. We love entertainment. We live for building transformative entertainment experiences that resonate with consumers. We are looking for passionate designers who want to help us create next generation entertainment hardware for Microsoft.”

The newer one changes that to remove any reference to a next generation Xbox: “Join the world class, in house Xbox Industrial Design studio. We love entertainment and live for building transformative experiences that resonate with consumers. We are looking for passionate designers to help create new Devices and experiences for Microsoft.”

So it seems like Microsoft realized, pretty damn belatedly, what a massive secrecy breach the old ad was.

Not like it’s gonna help anymore, the cat is out of the bag.
