The first gameplay trailer for Monolith’s Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is finally available. Showcasing the game in an alpha state, it takes players to an Orc stronghold that must be assaulted.
The overall gameplay system is a lot more epic than before – Talion can use his Ring of Power to collect Followers and build an army to assault the stronghold. Different Followers have different benefits and can assault the stronghold accordingly. You’ll battle with other tough guys in the process en route, making use of a range of abilities (like that snazzy “explode the bonfire to ignite enemies” move that Celebrimbor grants) and even hijacking a fire-breathing drake.
The real appeal of all this is that apparently it’s randomly generated thanks to the Nemesis System. This allows for unique moments like Followers that can assist you during battle and even personalized Warlords for each keep to fight against.
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will be out this August for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with releases for PS4 Pro and Project Scorpio also confirmed.
