In keeping with the tradition of high quality indie games coming to the platform, a surprise announcement confirmed today that Mike Bithell’s Subsurface Circular will be launching on the Nintendo Switch next month. It will be available on March 1 for $6. This marks the game’s first appearance on a console.
Coming from the maker of Tomas Was Alone, Subsurface Circular is the first in a series of shorts; the game originally launched on PC back in August, and has since also been available on iOS, and has received a ridiculously high amount of acclaim from those who have given it a spin.
You can check out the reveal trailer for the Switch version of the game – which is like a classic text based adventure reinterpreted in a modern context – for yourself below. This game marks a change in the practices of the developer, who until now has brought his games either only to PlayStation consoles, or to PlayStation consoles first- and signifies, yet again, the growing acceptance of the Switch with the development community.
