Of course, now that Microsoft has bought Mojang and Minecraft, we can probably expect the Xbox editions of Minecraft to be marketed just a little more prominently. The first step in that process comes this November, when we will be getting a retail release for the Xbox One version of Minecraft. Of course, this isn’t exactly new for the series- the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 versions of the game have all gotten retail releases too, and it is highly likely that the upcoming PlayStation Vita version will as well.
In any case, the disc based version will cost exactly as much as the digital version of the game costs- $20- although you can’t get the cheap $5 upgrade to the Xbox One version of the game from the Xbox 360 version of the game unless you buy both the games in question digitally.
Also, for all of you out there to whom this matters- and I know that’s a lot of you- yes, the Xbox One version will be 1080p. Rejoice.
