Monster Hunter Frontier is the Monster Hunter MMORPG that Capcom released on Xbox 360 and PC in Japan only. Although, like all things Monster Hunter, it prints money, it was generally considered to be a poor product, and most Monster Hunter fans swore off of it.
So obviously, Capcom decided to push it on us as much as possible. After announcing PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita ports of Monster Hunter Frontier G, they have now announced Monster Hunter Frontier GG, which is an enhanced version of the enhanced version of the original game.
The major update will be released in Spring 2014, and will overhaul a lot of the game- hopefully it overhauls the mechanics as well, which are all second generation mechanics. For reference, Monster Hunter is currently in its fourth generation, with the release of Monster Hunter 4 earlier this year.
Whereas I want to rag on Capcom for milking the product more, I will say I am at the very least impressed by their commitment to their MMORPG. Many others have been known to drop failed online games with much little provocation than in this case.
