Monster Hunter Rise got off to a predictably impressive start upon launch, shipping over 4 million units within three days of its release. To no one’s surprise, the game is continuing to sell well, with Capcom has announced that the action RPG has now crossed 5 million units in worldwide shipments and digital sales.
Monster Hunter Rise’s impressive global sales have, of course, translates to strong sales in regional charts as well. The game topped UK charts in its first week, and also sold over 1.3 million units in Japan in three days, nearly equaling the launch sales of its predecessor, Monster Hunter World. Capcom has previously said that it expects Rise to sell as well as World did (which is really saying something), and early sales seem to indicate that it might just be able to do that.
Monster Hunter Rise is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch, and will also be releasing for PC in early 2022. In our review of the game, we said, “Monster Hunter Rise is mechanically the best game in the series yet, delivering superlative experience to long time fans and newcomers alike, and also quite possibly the best game to have launched on the Switch since Breath of the Wild.” You can read the full review through here.
