Capcom has revealed its second major collaboration update for Monster Hunter Rise and it’s Okami. This is essentially a layered armor set for your Palamute that transforms it into Amaterasu (with an accompanying Issun). The update goes live on July 30th – see it in action below.
Along with changing the overall look of one’s Palamute, the layered armor also confers special effects like leaving a trail of flowers and sprouting grass wherever Amaterasu sprints. Along with her default Divine Retribution Reflector, Amaterasu also gets the Tsumugari Glaive to wield in battle. The player can also have a Celestial Brush, which could be a new event-specific weapon.
More details on the event quest have yet to be revealed so stay tuned. Players can also use their save data from Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin in Monster Hunter Rise to unlock the “Rider” layered armor set, which makes your character in the latter look like the protagonist of the former.
