Moonbreaker Announced by Subnautica Developer, Enters Early Access on September 29th

With a universe crafted by author Brandon Sanderson, the turn-based tactical strategy game involves fighting with digital miniatures.

Unknown Worlds Entertainment promised a new game reveal at Gamescom Opening Night Live. What we didn’t expect was a turn-based tactical strategy title with miniature figurines and a universe crafted by fantasy author Brandon Sanderson. Check out Moonbreaker below, which goes into early access for PC on September 29th.

Players choose a captain and up to 10 crew, with gameplay described as Hearthstone meets XCOM. One can compete against other players online or engage in offline challenges. Those keen on single-player can engage in Cargo Runs which offer procedurally generated encounters, upgraded abilities, and more.

Crew and captains are unlocked by playing the game, and there will be over 50 units, captains and assists available at launch. Even more will be added with each new Season. On top of this, players can also paint their miniatures with digital painting tools. You can have decals, auras, deploy effects, and much more.

Stay tuned for more details on Moonbreaker in the coming weeks.
