Naughty Dog on Sequels After Uncharted 4: “Really Hard To Do With Nathan Drake”

Co-director Neil Druckmann feels the best way is to "go out on top".

Naughty Dog may make another Uncharted game after Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases in April but according to co-director Neil Druckmann, any sequels with Nathan Drake will be difficult. This is because Drake’s story will effectively end in the fourth game.

Speaking to The Sun, Druckmann said, “We’ve been with this character for so long. He’s at the height of his popularity, so it’s not a good business decision [to walk away from the series]. But I feel like the best way to honor him is to go out on top, to finish his story.”

Granted, the Uncharted series is still Sony’s property and Druckmann doesn’t know of the publisher’s plans for it in the future. “But with the end of [A Thief’s End’s] story, it will be really hard to do a sequel with Nathan Drake Maybe there’ll be a prequel, maybe it will be a different character, I don’t know. But this is the end for Nathan Drake.”

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases on April 26th for PS4.
