Naughty Dog Ramping Up Its Staff As Production for Uncharted 4 Enters Its Final Year

Specifically, they seem to be hiring environmental artists.

Maybe the environments in the final game will look far better than they do here.

Although I have multiple times in the past spoken out against extrapolating any sort of information about games in development from just job listings, this might be something that interests everyone regardless- Naughty Dog is apparently looking to add some environment designers, and developers specializing in environment construction, to its team as production of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End enters its final year.

The reason that this news is bound to interest you is that the PlayStation Experience demo of the game was in fact criticized for its environments- while everyone loved the models, and how they looked and behaved, the environments were seen as underwhelming, especially next to the implicit promises that had been made by the E3 2014 demo. It sounds like Naughty Dog may have heeded the feedback, and is planning on doing something about it.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, is due to launch exclusively on the PS4 next year.
