New Details On Upcoming Xbox One Update: Blu Ray, Controller And More

Some nifty changes coming in.

Microsoft’s about to release a system update for Xbox One in the coming days, and they’ve posted a few details as to just what the update will include via Major Nelson.

First and foremost, the update will bring some changes to the Xbox One’s Blu-ray player in the form of 50 Hz video output for content that has been natively recorded at 50 Hz. The post also says that Microsoft will “be updating the Blu-ray Player app in the coming days to round out these improvements.”

The update will include improve controller and headset firmware updates that will allow for better wireless connectivity with less audio static.

The third change that the post listed is silent reboot after the system updates, plus system updates for the Xbox One on demand.

“After this update, if your console is in Instant On mode, the update will happen automatically and return to standby upon completio,” the post on Major Nelson reads. “This means you won’t need to power on your console after an update moving forward. If you want to take future updates when available without waiting for your console to do it on its own, we’ve added this option under system settings. It will only show as available when there is an update to take.”

Microsoft says that these new features will be released to the audiences over several days.
