Microsoft Edge, the Windows 10-exclusive web browser that replaced Internet Explorer, will be heading to the Xbox One thanks to the New Xbox One Experience. This was confirmed by the developer on Twitter, though it wasn’t revealed whether it would update would include the browser at launch or later.
Along with Edge, the New Xbox One Experience will offer a vastly improved user interface experience that’s faster, sleeker and full of new features like a revamped home interface and Guide, and backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games. Edge would make a great addition to the equation, especially since Internet Explorer on Xbox One – which is a custom version of the software – could be better.
The question here is whether Edge on Xbox One will be a custom solution, especially when you consider that Windows 10 on Xbox One is essentially a heavily customized version of the OS which Microsoft refers to as OneCore. Regardless, stay tuned for more information – the New Xbox One Experience arrives in November.
