Next Call of Duty Planned for Release in Q4 2021

Death, taxes and a yearly Call of Duty sequel are always a certainty.

Activision’s Call of Duty franchise continues to excel with over 100 million monthly active users across numerous titles last year. While the company will roll out content for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone, it has new premium title coming this year. Said release is planned for Q4 2021, as per chief financial officer Dennis Durkin in a conference call for the company’s Q4 financial results.

Such a revelation is unsurprising, considering that Call of Duty is on a yearly release cycle. “Q4 2021” implies that it could release between October 1st and December 31st this year but it’s likely, as always, that the sequel will arrive by November at the latest. This is in order to take advantage of holiday and Christmas sales.

The real question is whether the next title will also be integrated into Warzone. For that matter, will it be a follow-up to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or a brand title in the series? Time will tell so stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
