Nintendo is among the latest of companies to unveil its financial earnings for the quarter ending September 30th 2019. It revealed that 4.8 million Switch hardware units was sold during this period, bringing the console’s total worldwide sales to 41.67 million. The Switch Lite, which released on September 20th, made up 1.95 million of those sales.
Nintendo also confirmed that 35.88 million software was sold during the quarter ending September 30th. Overall, 246.01 million Switch games have been sold worldwide till date. Currently, the company is on track to sell 18 million console units by March 31st 2020. It didn’t make any adjustments to its forecast for the period. Which is understandable given the remaining releases for the fiscal year.
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is out today and has already garnered strong critical acclaim before its release. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the long-awaited follow-up to the series, will be out by March 20th 2020 following delay. It’s the first mainline title in the series since Animal Crossing: New Leaf launched for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.
