Nomad Games: ‘The length of Steam’s Greenlight process erodes the value of our product’

Valve apparently blocking publishers from helping indie games bypass Steam Greenlight.

Nomad Games, the people behind Talisman have claimed that the length of Steam’s Greenlight process is long and hence degrades the value behind their games.

Over at Steam, Nomad Games said that they have two publishers backing their game on Steam. Unfortunately, Valve has refused.

“Talisman Prologue has now been available on PC through our own web site for six months. Two publishers have offered to back our product on Steam, but Valve has made very clear this is not an option,” reads the page.

They also said that Prologoue on it’s own won’t be available on Steam as the process is just too long.

“Prologue on its own will never be available on Steam. The length of the Greenlight process erodes the value of the product when it is available elsewhere. If you want to see Talisman in all its glory on Steam, this is now the place to vote!”

What do you guys think about this? Do you see this case as a way of Valve blocking publishers from helping indie game developers bypassing GreenLight? Let us know in the comments section below.
