Octopath Traveler launched today, and the one thing that is clear about it already is just how amazing its soundtrack is. Fully orchestrated, but channeling the sounds of 16- and 32-bit JRPGs, it’s basically the best of all worlds- a soulful, nostalgic, wistful series of compositions that truly seems to be one of the best soundtracks of the year, every bit as accomplished as the game’s graphical look is.
And now, in a rare twist, you can buy this soundtrack for yourself. If you want it, it is available to buy right now on iTunes and Amazon. A physical disc for it has also launched in Japan, but that will likely not come over to the west. If you are a collector, you can always import it, otherwise you can just get the soundtrack digitally, and enjoy the music for yourself.
Octopath Traveler is available now, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. You may have noted that our review of the game is not up yet, but we’re currently playing it obsessively, and our review should be going live soon- hopefully some time next week, so stay tuned.
