Square Enix and Acquire's acclaimed H2-2D RPG series has crossed another major sales milestones, with both titles' collective sales hitting 5 million units.
Acquire – the studio behind Tenchu, Way of the Samurai, and Octopath Traveler – is behind Mario and Luigi's revival, copyright information has revealed.
Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler 2 have already been added to the subscription service's catalog of games.
Square Enix has released both RPGs for their respective platforms out of nowhere, as well as a bundle containing both.
The 2018 RPG still remains unavailable on PlayStation consoles, but as per a recent rating in Taiwan, that could change soon.
The RPG was delisted from the store in early March, following which Square Enix reassured that the game's removal from the store was temporary.
Including Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi, Octopath Traveler producer Tomoya Asano, and others.
"We are working on this and will update when the game is available to purchase again," the company says.
The acclaimed HD-2D RPG has hit another major sales milestone. A sequel was also recently announced for Switch, PlayStation, and PC.
Octopath Traveler's mobile game is coming west after first having launched in Japan in 2020, with pre-registrations for an upcoming beta now open.
LIVE A LIVE and Dragon Quest 3 are both in line for full-blown HD-2D remakes, but there might be more in the pipeline beyond those two.
"The development team will work hard so that we can set off on a new adventure with you all," writes Square Enix.
Star Wars: Squadrons, Genesis Noir and Narita Boy are also coming.
Tomoya Asano hopes you'll enjoy Bravely Default 2 in the meantime.
Square Enix's HD-2D retro RPG is out now for Google's game-streaming platform.

The old-school-new-school blend RPG is out now on Steam.
Square Enix officially confirms the RPG's PC release date as June 7th.
The HD-2D JRPG is soon going to be playable for non-Nintendo players too.
