The progenitor of the modern VR gaming revolution has dropped in price by an absurd degree, at least temporarily- Oculus Rift, as well as its Touch controllers, are available for $400 total right now, for the next six weeks. Considering that the controllers+headset cost over $700 total, this is an amazing price cut- and if you have a PC that is capable of running Oculus Rift, you should definitely look into getting these headsets.
VR is still nascent, but there are some great VR games, most of which are available on Oculus Rift. One of them, Eve Valkyrie, will actually be available bundled with the Rift if you get it from Best Buy, at no extra cost- so for $400, you get the headset, controller, and a game as well. It’s really hard to argue with that.
Oculus has ceded a lot of ground to HTC Vive and PlayStation VR in the last year or so, especially with a lot of bad press it has gotten. Maybe this pricecut can change the headset’s fortunes, and give it a second wind in the VR market.
