Once Human Surpasses 231,000 Players on Steam

Despite an overall "Mixed" rating, Starry Studio's post-apocalyptic survival shooter has achieved a new player milestone.

Despite controversy with its Terms of Service and data policy, Starry Studio’s Once Human has achieved a new player milestone on Steam. After crossing 131,000 players at launch, it peaked at 231,668 concurrent players just two days ago. The survival sandbox shooter had over 200,000 players in the past 24 hours, indicating that this isn’t just a weekend affair.

Once Human launched with mixed player impressions, with 59 percent of its 8,959 user reviews positive on Steam. However, it’s since garnered 26,886 user reviews, with 67 percent being positive (though the overall rating is still “Mixed”). Whatever the reasons, it’s performing very well for Singularity Studio Group and its parent company, NetEase.

Set in a post-apocalyptic setting, Once Human sees players as Meta-Humans fighting against the infestation of Stardust. There’s base-building, crafting, loot, survival mechanics, vehicles and more for players to engage with. Check out our review – we gave it a six out of ten.
