Palworld Mobile Game to be Developed by PUBG Studios

Krafton has announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Pocketpair, which will see the former's PUBG Studios developing a mobile version of Palworld.

After Palworld got off to the rapturous start that it did upon its release earlier this year, it quickly became clear that developer Pocketpair would attempt to capitalize on its success and bring it to as many platforms as possible. Now, not long after the open world survival title’s recent PS5 release (except in Japan), it turns out Palworld is headed to mobile devices as well.

It has been announced that Krafton and Pocketpair have entered into a licensing agreement that will see the former developing a mobile version of Palworld. Specifically, PUBG Studios will be developing the game, with Krafton stating that it intends to “faithfully reinterpret and implement the main fun elements of the original for the mobile environment.”

This isn’t the first we’ve seen of Pocketpair partnering with third-parties in its efforts to expand the Palworld IP. Earlier this year, the company established Palworld Entertainment alongside Aniplex and Sony Music Entertainment with the goal of “developing the reach of the intellectual property”.

In September, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company filed lawsuit against Pocketpair for patent infringement. Pocketpair says it will do its best to “ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas.” Read more on that through here.
