We’ve been hearing about Payday 3 for a while now, and Starbreeze Studios has been working away on the long-awaited co-op heist shooter for several years at this point. This year, the game is set to finally release, and ahead of its launch, it’s clearly building up plenty of excitement.
In fact, in its recent quarterly fiscal report, developer Starbreeze Studios revealed that the game has been wishlisted by over million players on Steam already. The developer also reiterated that it will kick off its marketing plans for Payday 3 this summer, with an upcoming gameplay reveal having been recently confirmed, while the developer has also started dropping hints within Payday 2 for what its sequel will have in store.
Starbreeze says Payday 3 is in the final leg of development, and that the studio is now focused on ensuring a simultaneous PC and console launch, while planning is also underway for its long-term post-launch support.
“In addition to development, which continues until the finish line, we are also working intensively on the steps required to launch simultaneously on PC and console, as well as the planning for DLC-content that will be launched at regular intervals during the game’s lifetime,” the developer wrote.
Payday 3 is in development for PC and consoles, but there’s no word yet on whether it will be a cross-gen title.
