Persona 4 Golden Steam Release Deemed Success By Atlus

And please don't spoil the ending to this 12 year old game.

For whatever reason, Atlus has avoided the PC platform like the plague over the years. Even as other even smaller Japanese studios have opened their IPs to PC, Atlus still largely resists it. That changed little last year with Catherine Classic’s surprising launch on PC. That seemed to open the door to Persona 4 Golden getting released on Steam last week, and what do you know, it seems it was a success.

As revealed by the Atlus West Twitter account, there was a message from the company thanking players for what they called a successful launch of the game on Steam. It’s no surprise really, since people have been clamoring for these games on PC for years, and it was the top selling game on Steam shortly after that release. They also ask for people to not spoil things for what is essentially a 12 year game (the vanilla version released in 2008 on PS2), which is just adorable.

This marks the first time a mainline Persona has left a PlayStation platform since the very first title in 1996 which also saw a PC release in Japan. Persona 4 Golden itself has been stuck on the Vita since 2012. Hopefully, this will lead to more releases down the line, keep your fingers crossed.
