Atlus’ newest game is certifiably a hit- if the 1.5 million units of sales worldwide hadn’t convinced you, then here’s something else to add to the growing list of evidence about the title’s success. In April, Persona 5 topped PSN’s download charts, rocketing ahead of all other recent releases, including Mass Effect and Horizon.
In Europe, however, it failed to catch on as well- it was only #13 on the European charts. There, predictably, FIFA 17 ended up at the top. Still, though, given the game’s perennial sold out status in most European stores, it is safe to conclude that the game has at least exceeded whatever expectations Atlus and Deep Silver may have had for it.
Persona 5 is a fantastic game so all of this success is well deserved. Let’s hope it doesn’t stop selling, and let’s hope Persona 6 doesn’t take another decade to release. The game is available on PS3 and PS4.
