Phasmophobia launched for Steam in early access back in 2020, and it’s safe to say that the game has been received exceedingly well in the time that has passed since then. Developer Kinetic Games has continued to update and improve the game with consistent support and its player base has continued to grow. And soon enough, the game will become available to an even wider audience.
At the recent Xbox Games Showcase Extended livestream, it was announced that Phasmophobia is finally coming to consoles. It will be releasing in early access for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One this August. Kinetic Games has confirmed that the game will also be available for PS5, with full PS VR2 support included. Check out its brief announcement trailer below.
Phasmophobia sees four players working together to investigate a variety of different locations that are haunted by ghosts and supernatural beings. Using a wide range of items and investigative techniques, players attempt to make contact with the beings to try and determine what type of haunting they are dealing with- though of course, while doing so, you’re also always in danger of falling victim to the subject of your investigation.
