Sony battered Microsoft at E3 2013 by announcing that the PlayStation 4 have no DRM or restrictions on used game sales, not to mention pricing their console $100 less than the Xbox One.
In response to the criticism that continues to rise regarding the Xbox One, Microsoft Game Studios head Phil Spencer stated that it would ultimately come down to the console’s release on store shelves and the consumers’ response to it.
Speaking to GameSpot, Spencer stated that, “We always knew that our story would play out over time. And even now, I would say, this isn’t a sprint,. The platform launches this November; we’ve got more content to share.
“There are other means like Gamescom [and] TGS coming that will still continue to put a value [proposition] on what we’re bringing to market. The reaction, I think, is complete when the product is on the shelf and it has a price and it has a content library and consumers vote. And that’s the date I’m looking forward to.”
