Phil Spencer “Promises” Xbox Isn’t Going Anywhere, Committed to First Party

Xbox boss isn't feeling "so loved right now".

Xbox boss Phil Spencer isn’t exactly under the best spotlight these days following the closure of Lionhead Studios and the cancellation of Fable Legends.

Responding on Twitter however, Spencer promised that the Xbox brand will stick around while also stating that, “I’m proud of the games our 1P Studios have shipped on XB1, Our plan is continue to build new IP and expand our franchises.”

As for why Lionhead was shut down in the first place, “It’s impossible to go into all the detail and I apologize for that. Just know I’m committed to our 1P [first-party].”

Spencer also followed up later by stating that, “I’m not sure I’m so loved right now (not looking for sympathy), Gamer passion is strong.”

Though Fable Legends has been cancelled, the beta will continue until April 13th for current players. What are your thoughts on Spencer’s stance? Let us know in the comments.
