Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier Announced, Takes Place Between Second and Third Movies

A cinematic adventure game along the lines of Telltale's games and Life is Strange.

The newly rebooted Planet of the Apes film series has been surprisingly successful, owing to a superlatively high quality that it has maintained even as it has tackled an inherently ridiculous narrative conceit. Now, this series will be making its way over to the realm of video games- UK based Imaginati Studios has announced Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier.

Last Frontier will take place between Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, and will be published by the games division of Imaginarium, who were responsible for the motion capture work in the recent movies. Andy Serkins, who most people know as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (though of course, he had a prominent part to play in the Planet of the Apes movies, too) will be on board as an executive producer.

The game will be morally ambiguous, will follow a cast of humans who live or die based on your decisions, and will be an entirely cinematic game, with the player’s only input being the choices they make, and nothing else. It is estimated to be 2-3 hours long. You can check out the trailer for it below- the game itself is due out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
