Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 Gameplay Showcased, Single Player Confirmed

The sequel sees plants go on the offensive as zombies defend.

PopCap Games took the stage after a rather awkward entrance from a man dressed in a super zombie costume to reveal gameplay footage from Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. The scenario seems to be quite different this time around as Graveyard Ops, the new four player co-op mode was revealed.

Interestingly, it’s the plants which are attacking this time around while the zombies try to defend. The units will be a mix of units from different eras and we even get a look at the super zombies, which is a new melee class zombie. Hilariously, the new Imp Zombie can call in a mech which allows it to deal unbelievable amounts of damage and somewhat calls back to Titanfall.

The good news with the sequel is the ability to play the game solo in a different experience against the AI. PvZ: GW players will also be able to transfer their progress to the sequel. Free content updates have also been promised for post-launch.

Plant vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will be out on PC and Xbox One in Spring 2016. What are your thoughts on the gameplay which seems to mirror the first game rather closely? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information as E3 rolls on.
