On the heels of the release of the critically acclaimed Xbox One exclusive indie game Inside last month, Dino Patti, the co-founder of Playdead, the studio behind that game, and also the critically acclaimed Limbo, has announced on Twitter today that he will be leaving the studio to ‘seek new challenges.’
Patti’s departure seems to be amiable, and comes after 10 years that he was a part of the company that he helped form. “Following almost 10 incredible years building Playdead from an idea to two dents in the games industry, I’m leaving to seek new challenges,” he said on Twitter.
As of right now, Playdead has grown to a staff of 25 people, and they have presumably started work on their next project, though no official announcement regarding what it might be has been made yet. Until we know what masterpiece they have in the making next, however, you should definitely look at getting and playing Inside– it’s one of those games that deserves a playthrough by everybody.
