PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is undoubtedly one of the big surprises from this year. The popular survival shooter on the PC seems to have taken off, and seems to show no signs of fading away as time goes on. In fact, its popularity has continued to grow- so much so, that today, it achieved a rather impressive new record.
Today, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds reached a new all-time high for its concurrent player count on Steam, with 382,561 players concurrently playing the game this month. This not only tops the 239,167 players record it achieved last week, but also makes its peak concurrent player count as the fourth highest across any game, ever, in Steam’s history. In the process, the game has also toppled GTA5‘s concurrent player count.
If you want to know what exactly the big deal is with this game, hop on over to Steam and check it out for yourself. If you fancy yourself more of a console player, there is also a release on Xbox One that is due later this year.
