PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Breaks Another Record, Is Now The Most Played Non Valve Game On Steam Ever

It seems like nothing will get in the way of this game's success.

There is no stopping PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the hit multiplayer indie sensation that came out of nowhere on PC earlier this year, and has since not stopped making waves. We’ve already talked about how, over the last few months, it has managed to break records set by games like Skyrim, Fallout 4, Civilization 5, and GTA 5– and now, Steamspy reveals that the game has surpassed yet another impressive benchmark.

The benchmark? It is now the most played game not made by Valve in Steam history, beating every other third party game ever. This means that only Valve mainstays DOTA 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive have been played more than it- a seriously impressive result for any game, but especially so for it.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available currently on PC via Steam Early Access. It is due for release on the Xbox One later this year; a launch for the PS4 has not yet been announced, making this one of the most major console exclusives Microsoft currently has in its arsenal.
