At the recent G-star gaming convention which was held in South Korea, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ developer Bluehole hosted a panel consisting of CEO Changhan Kim and Lead Game Designer Junhyuk Choi. As the game inches closer to its 1.0 release on PC, fans at the convention raised several important issues concerning the future of the game and the entire interview was shared on the game’s official forums.
The questions ranged from the very prevalent problem of cheating in the game to upcoming content such as the desert map and new weapons. The panel also addressed players’ concerns regarding microtransactions and have stated that they will be included but these will only affect cosmetic changes. This is a welcome relief and an obvious design choice for such a highly competitive game such as this one.
“As you may already know, we will never add anything that affects the gameplay. However, there is a relatively strong demand for cosmetic items. Since the official launch is our top priority, we plan on adding new items after that,” the developers stated.
Additionally, there may be a few upcoming changes made to the game in the form of new weapons or even a training mode that may be added after the game’s full release. If you want to know more, you can read the full interview through the link above.
