Following a seven hour maintenance period and over 12 GB patch for the PC version, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds 1.0 is now available on PC. The Battle Royale title has finally left Steam Early Access after launching on the same in May.
Since the game’s Early Access release, it’s been a global sensation. It’s sold over 25 million copies and broke records for daily concurrent player peaks on Steam, surpassing the likes of Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: GO. The number of players currently online is 1,674,521 with today’s concurrent player count peaking at 2,699,268. Expect the latter to be much higher when it next updates.
The game has seen a number of significant updates over the past few months including a vaulting system, revamped interface, new map, new weapons and much more. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is also available for Xbox One via the Game Preview program but this isn’t version 1.0. The final release can only be played on PC so get it while it’s still hot.
