If you’ve played PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (or other similar battle royale games), you know about the blue ring of death. It’s a circle that keeps contracting to reduce the size of the map as the match progresses, in order to push competing players closer toward each other, until only one of them remains standing. A user on Reddit, though, seems to have discovered a pretty major bug that allows users to circumvent this feature.
This bug allows the player to simply stand in place while the blue circle keeps on contracting, without taking any damage even if they’re standing outside of the designated map area. What’s more, while a player is outside of the blue circle, they’re essentially invisible to all other players, meaning that those exploiting this glitch can remain undetected for long periods of time. Basically, the glitch allows to keep standing in place, and once the other players in the match are done killing each other, you win.
Judging by the number of responses on the thread, the issue seems to be one that more and more people are finding out about, and while PUBG Corporation hasn’t commented on it yet, we expect them to tackle the issue soon- they’ve been pretty prompt with fixing major issues so far.
PUBG is available on PC, while Xbox One players can also play the game in Game Preview. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
