PlayStation 4 Earns £2.9 Billion Pounds In Q3, Predicted To Keep Climbing

Sales like this represent an even brighter future for the PS4.

It’s been recently announced that Sony turned over a monstrous 531.5 Billion Yen as of the end of the Third Quarter which came to a close on December 31st 2014, that’s 2.9 Billion Pounds. This “significant” boost in their sales figures represents a climb of 16.8% year on year and is expected to have come from the boost in sales for the PlayStation 4.

During the Q3 period, Sony sold 6.4 million PlayStation 4’s whereas one year prior they sold a total of 4.5 million units. With sales climbing like this it’s easy to see why Sony has already announced that they have sold in excess of 20 million PlayStation 4 units. With sales overall being up and representing a considerable climb, the recently announced business plan that Sony aims to enact may well see these numbers grow further as they currently predict a total combined PS3 and PS4 sales number of 17.5 million units sold for the financial year which ends this month.

There’s been a lot of talk recently regarding the current financial status of both Microsoft and Sony. A lot of the time, these arguments have no base in fact and are instead just drawn from personal conclusions. But the fact of the matter, simply put, is that neither company is in financial distress.
