The PlayStation VR will come with a demo disc, that includes a range of playable software for users to get a taste of all that VR has to offer- except that range will be different, depending on where in the world you live.
If you live in North America, you get access to eighteen free demos with the PlayStation VR; in Europe and the UK, you just get eight free demos. This disparity has been noticed and commented upon before– and apparently, the outcry has been loud enough to cause Sony to respond to it.
“Due to several considerations specific to our region, for example, age rating and localization requirements, there is a difference in content between the US and European VR demo discs. We continue to explore the possibility of making further demos available for free download from the Store,” Sony Europe said in a statement to Digital Spy.
This is a reason I can get behind, and I can understand how Sony’s hands may be tied here. I do hope, however, that they work through these issues, and offer those demos for free to users later- through the PSN Store, as they mentioned, may be a good way to do it.
