A little while ago, we reported that the PlayStation VR would be coming bundled with a demo disc, that would have a grand total of 8 demos for users to start playing on using on their new headsets right away. 8 games is a lot- even if they are all only demo versions, they are a diverse representation of the kinds of software that the PSVR will probably be getting, and should let new buyers figure out what kinds of games they’ll like in VR right away.
Unfortunately, European PSVR buyers will find that these 8 games, though they are a lot, is less than half the number of games that North American buyers will be getting with their demo discs- as it turns out, North American PlayStation VR buyers will get a grand total of 18 demos, including all the eight that European buyers will get, but additional ones, such as Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.
This is pretty scummy- and seems to be another poor move by Sony following a week that was full of nothing but bad moves on their part. I understand different regional markets and strategies- but there is no excuse for giving one market less than half than you are giving the other market.
Hopefully Sony has an explanation for this.
