Along with some big first-party titles like God of War: Ragnarok, Sony is also prepping for the release of PlayStation VR2. The next-generation VR headset offers 4K resolution with HDR, an expanded field of view and foveated rendering among other features. The company has yet to provide release date though, even as figures like DSCC CEO Ross Young predict a 2023 launch.
Nevertheless, there are big plans for its launch line-up. SIE president and CEO Jim Ryan revealed during Sony Corporation’s Business Segment Briefings 2022 that there were more than 20 major first-party and third-party titles confirmed for PlayStation VR2 at launch. Horizon: Call of the Mountain, developed by Guerrilla Games and Firesprite Games, is pictured in the slide.
Various other developers like nDreams (Fracked, Phantom: Covert Ops) and Fast Travel Games (CitiesVR) have confirmed, either directly or teasingly, that they’re working on games for the platform. However, we’re still waiting for a huge blowout of PSVR2 information. Stay tuned in the meantime.
