Pokemon GO Has 5.3 Million Active Adult Players In The UK Alone

Can't stop, won't stop moving.

It’s been over a month since Pokemon GO launched- a month is a long time in the video gaming world, and an even longer time in the incredibly rapid moving mobile gaming world, but the game seems to be showing no signs of slowing down. It is still dominating the charts, and more importantly, it appears to have historic player retention rates for a mobile game.

A survey conducted by YouGov (via VideoGamer) reveals that 6.1 million adults in the UK downloaded and installed Pokemon GO onto their phones since its launch- of these, 5.3 million, or an impressive 87%, are still actively playing the game daily. Impressively, it also appears as though most of these players are spending money on the game still- which would explain the insane amounts of cash that the game is raking in.

Even more impressively, this figure does not include anyone aged under 18, who doubtless form a substantial portion of Pokemon GO‘s audience. All said, then, it is now clear that Pokemon GO is an unprecedented success in the mobile gaming sphere, and that it is here to stay.
