Pokemon GO‘s server load finally seems to have stabilized enough that developers Niantic are feeling comfortable launching it in other countries around the world. That is why they announced today that the hit augmented reality game will now be available in 31 additional countries.
These countries are Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Chad, Gabon, Sao Tome and Principe, Egypt, Morocco, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Niger, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
Yep, unfortunately, the game is still not out in India or China, which is frankly astonishing, given that those two are the biggest markets for mobile games at the moment. Though then again, maybe that’s exactly why the game isn’t out there yet- a billion people each in those countries probably means that the servers for the game would crash again once it launched there, if Niantic didn’t have the infrastructure ready beforehand.
